Eight Steps Newsletter Writing; 2- Naming the Nesletter

According to a famous quotation, first impression is the last impression. And it is true in most of the cases, especially when it comes to reading. 95% of readers don’t read the content if the title doesn’t sound attractive to them.

The second step towards the business end of newsletter is the ‘naming’. Naming a newsletter or giving it an attractive title increases the readers thirst. It, however, relies on the information gathered in the first step. The title of the newsletter is determined in accordance with the type of audience.

Giving a little time to design the title makes it more attractive. The easiest way to start designing is to ponder, which of your newsletter had been a hit in the past. Some more exercises can also help, i.e. having others’ opinion, searching etc.

First of all, try your self to recall your hit newsletter and see how its name worked for you. Second step is to have others’ opinion. You can ask individual questions regarding their areas of interest etc. this technique is also known as mind mapping.

If nothing works from the above mentioned strategies, don’t worry. Just type a keyword, i.e. newsletter names in google search bar, and thousands of ideas will be at a click’s distance from you.

After having the idea of newsletter name, do review it. It’s better if you get it reviewed by some others as well. Do not stick to a single idea, have some alternatives as well, choose the best alternative among all and make the first impression of your newsletter a hit.
