The Level of Readability and the King Content

The information economics says, ‘excess of knowledge creates poverty of attention’. But this statement doesn’t mean that availability of information on millions of websites have made all the users poorly attentive, instead the users have been categorized in three major classes according to the level of attention they pay while reading the content of a webpage. They are as follows;

Peepers (Read only Titles)

Highlighters (Read only the first sentence or the paragraph)

Detailed Readers (those who read the full content)

Since we’ve categorized the readers, it’s of utmost importance to bring your content in line with the readability of the content. And for this it’s better to map out the content first. About 90% of the visitors to your website are the peepers, so this requires attractive titles. Regarding marketing strategy website should be marketed in the specific places, by using right keywords.

The second category which comprises of about 8% of the readers, does read the content but in a leafed through manner. This requires the excellent presentation of the content using important points in bold, italic or underlined form. This also requires gimmicking readers’ attention from very first line. And the first paragraph needs to be targeting readers’ requirements.

The third category which is found in very limited in number but in the form of long term association is the detailed reader. This type of reader if finds a content of his interest once at your site, certainly visits again for updated information. Though very small in quantity, but one should not ignore long term relations so entertaining this type of reader is as important as it’s for the first two. This reader needs cohesion, practical examples, and conclusions.

Content is certainly the king, but all depends on how you make it so.
