Eight Steps Newsletter Writing; 2- Naming the Nesletter

According to a famous quotation, first impression is the last impression. And it is true in most of the cases, especially when it comes to reading. 95% of readers don’t read the content if the title doesn’t sound attractive to them.

The second step towards the business end of newsletter is the ‘naming’. Naming a newsletter or giving it an attractive title increases the readers thirst. It, however, relies on the information gathered in the first step. The title of the newsletter is determined in accordance with the type of audience.

Giving a little time to design the title makes it more attractive. The easiest way to start designing is to ponder, which of your newsletter had been a hit in the past. Some more exercises can also help, i.e. having others’ opinion, searching etc.

First of all, try your self to recall your hit newsletter and see how its name worked for you. Second step is to have others’ opinion. You can ask individual questions regarding their areas of interest etc. this technique is also known as mind mapping.

If nothing works from the above mentioned strategies, don’t worry. Just type a keyword, i.e. newsletter names in google search bar, and thousands of ideas will be at a click’s distance from you.

After having the idea of newsletter name, do review it. It’s better if you get it reviewed by some others as well. Do not stick to a single idea, have some alternatives as well, choose the best alternative among all and make the first impression of your newsletter a hit.

Eight Steps Newsletter Writing; 1- Analyzing the Audience

A newsletter is effective only if it is in accordance with the nature and requirements of the people you’re targeting in it. In order to have the maximum effectiveness a newsletter should be readers’ oriented. This happens only when you know:

Who are your readers?

What your newsletter aim to?

How often will it be published?

Starting from identifying the readers, make sure from which group they belong, i.e. members, trustees, or end users etc. This categorization and identification helps to select the suitable strategy to be used while writing the content.

The most important part of the newsletter is the purpose which is wrapped in the words in the coming steps. The purpose needs to be clearly identified so that the organizational productivity can be maximized. The purpose can be to attract more customers, build strong relations with the existing customers etc.

It’s very important to have a certain time frame. The life span of a newsletter determines the amount of content to be included in its each issue, what should be the length of each issue and what strategy to be used in each issue etc.

Once you’re done with the analysis of the audience and the newsletter’s base, the coming steps will nothing more than a staircase for you.

The Leadership Styles

While exploring some literature about leadership, i’ve come across some leadership styles, which really attracted my attention so thought to share on blog. Well, the leadership styles to be discussed here are as follows:

1- Superleader:

A superleader is considered to be the most efficient kind of leader as he’s the one who develops the ability to think among his followers. His followers need a very little guideline from him. The superleader actually teaches his followers to eliminate negative thinking, and to make them able to work independently.

2- Servant Leader:

such kind of leader practices an approach whereby the main aim of the leader is to satisfy the others needs and interests by himself rather than motivating them to do their selves. Such type pf leaders are found to be better fit in Human ResourcesDepartments. Their special characteristics are that they are good listeners, persuasive, aware of the surroundings and empathetic.

3- Enterprenueral Leader:

This type of leader is one self-employed and plays a critical role in the organization. Such person is actually the risk taker.

4- Coach:

Coach is also a style of leader. Such leader closely resembles in superleader, he actually identifies the mistakes and flaws of his followers and then suggest them the right strategy. Such leader possesses good listening skill and acts as a great emotional support for his followers.

All the four styles of leadership are of equal importance, but the success depends on which style suits best to a particular organization or a social or political network.
